Role Summary:
As a Junior Data Scientist with a specialization in survey digitization, data cleaning, and analysis, you will be responsible for leveraging tools such as SurveyCTO, Python, SPSS, and mapping software to ensure the accurate collection, processing, and interpretation of survey data. Your expertise in developing Excel formulas and other data manipulation techniques will be instrumental in providing valuable insights to support decision-making.
Main Accountabilities/Duties:
- Utilize SurveyCTO/Kobo tool to efficiently digitize surveys and optimize data collection processes.
- Clean and preprocess survey data using
- Python, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency.
- Perform in-depth data analysis using statistical tools such as SPSS or other relevant analysis tools.
- Develop and implement Excel formulas and other data manipulation techniques for effective data processing.
- Design and implement automated processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
- Conduct quality checks on field and remote data collection
- Generate actionable insights from data analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Knowledge of creating QR codes, dashboards, APIs and others.
Education:
Data Science or any other relevant qualification with a major focus on data.
Experience, Skills & Competencies, Knowledge
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist with a focus on survey digitization and analysis.
- Proficiency in using data collection applications for digitization.
- Strong programming skills in Python for data cleaning, preprocessing, and analysis.
- Experience in utilizing statistical analysis tools such as SPSS and visualization tools like Looker studio and Power BI.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for developing complex formulas and data manipulation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
